Dignity4Patients welcomes the Minister for Health’s engagement on behalf of Michael Shine survivors.
Dignity4Patients, supporting the victims and survivors of Michael Shine, welcomes the recent correspondence from Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD.
We fully support and echo the government’s “deepest concern for all victims of Michael Shine.”
We look forward to constructive reengagement with the Minister and her department this autumn, following a careful review of our submission by her “officials, government colleagues, including the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and others.”
It is our hope that this government commitments to identifying an “appropriate and bespoke response to the issues raised by and the needs identified on behalf of the victims and survivors of Michael Shine” and it results in meaningful action.
We firmly believe that any “bespoke response” must align with the victims’ consistent call for a Commission of Investigation and should take the form of a statutory investigation.
We await a formal response from the Minister for Health when the Dáil resumes in the autumn. Letter From Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill
