Prevention

We believe a patient must feel confident and safe so that they can be treated effectively and participate constructively in their care. Healthcare practitioners have a duty of care to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in their care.

The majority of healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists, physiotherapists, psychologists, pharmacists, and other health works are committed to excellent patient care. As healthcare providers on the frontline, healthcare staff share a responsibility for keeping patients safe, and we need your help to do so.

If you have a serious concern about a colleagues practice, conduct or behaviour in relation to Sexual Abuse  of patients, we need you to take action and report it to your management team.

​

If you continue to be concerned about the behaviour, conduct, or practices of healthcare professional, or if you are not satisfied outcomes of a management investigation into a disclosure you made to them about the behaviour, conduct, or practices of a colleagues, you can talk to us. We can support you in making official complaints to professional bodies and your management team.

When we are informed, we can help you take the steps necessary to protect patients’ safety.
