Public Inquiry

A Public Inquiry, sometimes called a Commission of Investigation, is an independent process established by the Government to examine matters of significant public concern. These processes are designed to establish the facts, understand what happened and why, and make recommendations to prevent similar issues from arising in the future. Their findings can have significant legal, political, and societal impact.
