There are new developments in a massive sexual assault investigation involving an Army doctor.
This week, the Army's Office of Special Trial Counsel preferred additional charges against Major Dr. Blaine McGraw, who served as an OB-GYN at Fort Hood.
According to the OSTC, McGraw is now facing a total of six charges and 146 specifications for incidents that allegedly happened between the fall of 2023 and the end of 2025.
There are 73 alleged victims in the case.
The Army said,
"Specifically, he is charged with 64 specifications of sexual abuse and assault, one specification of attempted sexual assault, 66 specifications of indecent recording, 13 specifications of conduct unbecoming, one specification of extramarital sexual misconduct, and one specification of violation willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer in violation of Articles 120, 120c, 133, 134, and 90 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice."
McGraw is also accused of secretly recording a woman who was not a patient at a private residence near Fort Hood.
Spotlight on America recently spoke with several alleged victims, including mothers who say they were informed by investigators that McGraw had secretly recorded them during sensitive moments in medical treatment.
"I think there's certain things in life like death that your brain just can't comprehend," one of them said. "It was really hard to appreciate that it was real. It's hard to deny it. There's a picture. He was the only person in the room that night."
The Army said that McGraw is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. He's awaiting a preliminary hearing date, which has not been set.
In addition, there are complaints filed against the Army, claiming it failed to protect alleged victims.
Just this week, a new claim was filed by a woman who claims she was sexually abused by McGraw during medical appointments at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
We have filed Freedom of Information Act requests to determine the timeline of any complaints or investigations into McGraw that may have existed prior to these charges, but we have not received any documents at this time.
We've repeatedly reached out to an attorney believed to be representing McGraw, but have not received a response.
Spotlight on America confirmed that the military's Inspector General has launched an investigation into the issue of secret recording at medical facilities.
If you have been affected by any of the issues raised in this article and were abused in state run medical and health facilities, you can contact Dignity4Patients, whose helpline is open Monday to Thursday, 10am to 4pm.
Dignity4Patients Commentary: The McGraw case is doing more that unveiling individual wrongdoing; it highlights a deeper systemic problem that allowed sexual abuse to continue unchecked. Exposing a culture in which safeguarding mechanisms were either insufficient or undermined.
Survivors' call for justice, structural reform, and preventative measures- not only stricter monitoring, but a systemic change to protect both patient and practitioner's alike.
