A York County doctor has been charged with soliciting nude photographs and coercing methadone patients into sexual acts in exchange for continuing to authorize their access to medications, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.

Christopher Davis, 63, was arrested April 30 on charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, sexual extortion, and other offenses, a news release states.

He was committed to York County Prison in lieu of $1 million bail, according to online court records.

He worked as the medical director at Pyramid Healthcare Treatment Center, the release states.

Sunday alleges that Davis coerced and manipulated female patients to engage in sexual acts and to provide him with sexual or nude photos. If they didn't, he would withhold or threaten to withhold their treatment and medications, the release states. Methadone is a Schedule II controlled substance used to treat opioid addiction. “This doctor abused his role as a gatekeeper to necessary medications for vulnerable patients by manipulating, intimidating, and assaulting numerous patients between 2022 and 2024,” Attorney General Sunday said in the release. “The patients relied on the defendant to provide compassionate care and treatment as they navigated a path to recovery, instead, he betrayed them time and time again. People seeking to better their lives through treatment should be celebrated and supported, not preyed upon and exploited.” If you have been affected by any of the issues raised in this article and were abused in state run medical and health facilities, you can contact Dignity4Patients, whose helpline is open Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm.
